July 25, 2018 -- EarthCam, the construction camera technology leader, has partnered with Autodesk, a leader in 3D design, engineering and construction management software, to integrate high-quality construction camera content and 360° VR photography into their user platform.
Through the strategic relationship, Autodesk BIM 360 construction management platform users now have access to the highest-quality webcam imagery in the industry to support important construction archives. EarthCam’s customers now have multiple ways they can share webcam, 360° VR photography and video content directly to documents and Autodesk BIM 360 hubs for a media-enhanced view of any Autodesk BIM 360 project.
“Our partnership with Autodesk speaks directly to our mission of continually supporting the industry with the highest-quality content available for successful jobsite management,” said Brian Cury, CEO and Founder of EarthCam. “Our webcam imagery and 360° video elevate communication, introducing a data-rich visual element that is unique to other solutions available in the marketplace.”
With EarthCam’s filters, image comparison and mark-up tools, users have numerous options to highlight changes and call out specific areas of interest directly on the photos. In addition, gigapixel panoramas, videos and time-lapse movies can be shared from the EarthCam interface instantly within the Autodesk platform. Jobsite environmental information being collected by EarthCam’s data sensors can also be shared through the modal to the Autodesk platform for further intelligence reporting.
“We share EarthCam’s mission to reduce errors and risk on construction projects, and to simplify an inherently complex and often chaotic building process," said Josh Cheney, construction industry manager at Autodesk. “We’re excited for the opportunity to put the power of EarthCam’s innovative technology in the hands of Autodesk BIM 360 users so they may easily compare progress to plans."
Autodesk BIM 360 is a leading construction project management platform built on the Autodesk Forge platform. Autodesk Forge is a connected developer cloud platform enabling customers to create customized, scalable solutions for engineering, construction and manufacturing challenges.
The visual content and critical jobsite data empowers users with the most up-to-date information for a more seamless and transparent project management process. The project team can make additional observations related to the photos directly within the Autodesk BIM 360 platform, creating one central interface for easy and efficient content management, organization and team collaboration.
This latest integration is part of EarthCam’s ongoing efforts to expand the ways in which its content can be shared across an organization to add value and support for a successful lean project management process.
